Donna Neal Evans, 79, of Clinton, died on December 22.
She was born December 9, 1934 in Herkimer, the daughter of the late Leroy and Doris Griffin Neal. She attended St. Francis de Sales grade school and Herkimer High School and graduated from Utica Applied Arts and Science (now known as Mohawk Valley Community College) in 1954 with a major in Retail Business Management and Design.
On August 27, 1971 she married Gareth A. Evans.
She served as President for the Schooltown Questers of Clinton in 1979. She was a member of the Clinton Garden Club volunteering time at the Lutheran Home’s “Active Day Program” providing hands on experience making floral arrangements.
She is survived by: her husband; her son Neal J. Burns and his wife Sharon of New Hartford, NY; her daughter Kristin Burns Brigham and her husband Michael of Kennebunk, ME; three step-children, Kevin R. Evans and his wife Ann of Macedon, NY, Colleen Evans Goodson of Clinton, NY and Karen Evans Ferraro and her husband Bob of Northbridge, MA; eight beautiful grandchildren - Rachel and Andrew Brigham; Julia and Jennifer Evans, Brian Maneen, Jr. and Kyle Goodson; and Michael and Meghan Ferraro; and by her brother Daniel C. Neal and his wife Rita of Detroit, MI; nephew Tim Neal and his wife Carol of South Lyon, MI, niece Megan Neal Sienko and her husband Grant of Grand Rapids, MI, and niece Mary Rita Neal of Ypsilanti, MI as well as great niece Helana Sienko and great nephews Brady Neal and Joseph Sienko.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 4, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Clinton. A reception will follow at the Skenandoa Club on Norton Avenue in Clinton. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Herkimer.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. or The Lutheran Homes Foundation.
