Maurice L. Page, 93, died on Wednesday, December 18. Predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Virginia Jones Page. He is survived by his sons Maurice Jr. (Sharon), Scott (Gail), Randy (Cindy) Page and a daughter Penny (Ray) Blaszkow; grandchildren, Michael, Shelby, Shana, Ellen, Benjamin, James, Thomas, Alison, Amy; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
He received his teaching degree from Cortland State University in 1943 and his Masters from Columbia University in 1945. He had a very successful 32 year career as teacher, coach, and Athletic Director at Westmoreland Central School. During his long career, he coached football, basketball, volleyball, track, and baseball. He was awarded NYS Athletic Director of the Year in 1978. He was inducted into the Cortland State University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1980. In 1994 the new gym/athletic facility at Westmoreland Central was dedicated in his name.
He was a veteran of the US Army Air Force.
Calling hours are Friday, December 20, 2013 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Church of the Annunciation, 7616 E. South St. in Clark Mills.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Maury Page Scholarship Fund awarded at Westmoreland Central School.
