David E. Waterman, 41, of Westmoreland, died on Aug. 18, 2012, while in Buffalo, N.Y. He was born July 27, 1971, in Utica, to William and Phyllis (Bernhardt) Waterman, raised and educated locally, and graduated from Mohawk Valley Community College. He was a registered nurse with University Hospital. On Aug. 7, 1998, he married Donna Vatalaro. He was a former competition powerlifter and held several world records. He is survived by his wife; daughters, Gianna Esterina and Kali Marie Waterman; his parents; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Cynthia and John M. Smith, Deansboro, Kathleen and Keith Brittell, New Hartford, Jessica and Peter Pagliaro, Sauquoit; and nine nieces and nephews; his father-in-law, Richard B. Vatalaro, Holland Patent; a sister-in-law, Dawn Vatalaro, Utica; a brother-in-law, Richard B. Vatalaro Jr., Holland Patent; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law and their family, Michael and Kate Yutzler, Alec and Ashley, Clinton. His grandparents, Rosemary and David Bernhardt; several aunts and uncles; mother-in-law, Katherine Vatalaro; and grandparents-in-law, Esther and Edmund Krowicki, died before him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Aug. 24 at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Annunciation, Clark Mills, with burial in Kirkland Cemetery.
