Jack Murfit, 76

Jack Murfit, 76, of Clinton, died on April 27, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital.
He was born on March 10, 1937, to Merritt and Mary Murfit. He attended Westmoreland Schools and served in the US Navy from 1955-1957.  On July 16, 1986 he married Margaret Maxam in Niagara Falls.
He is pre-deceased by his parents; sister, Ruby Piersall; and two nephews, Bobby and Gerald Piersall.  
He is survived by his wife; daughters and sons-in-law, Donald and Betty Morris, Fla.; David and Trina Gogola, Clinton; and Cathy Monroe, Utica; Grandchildren, Julie Gogola and Don Foster, Scott and Erin Morris, Michael and Abby Morris, Mark and Karyn Pierce, David and Angelina Gogola, Dana Gogola, Kayle Delmastro and several great-grandchildren; nieces, Sue and Fred Carpenter, Camden, Jeanette and Andy Roser, Fla., and Melissa Jones, Rome; nephews, Gerald and Trudy Piersall, Syracuse, and David and Toni Piersall, Rome; He is also survived by his in-laws, Richard Maxam, Jeanette and Larry Deluca, Gretchen Maxam, Jean Maxam, and Betty Maxam 
Services for Jack will be held on May 1 at 10 a.m. at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., Clinton with a burial in Rathbunville Union Cemetery, Verona Mills.  All are invited to call on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Jack’s memory to the Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance Corps., 7489 East South Street, Clinton, N.Y. 13323
